Magpies boss Eddie Howe has named his line-up that will battle the Blues at Stamford Bridge. The likes of winter signing Bruno Guimaraes and Chris Wood who opened their account for the Toon Army, are in the starting XI, while Fabian Schar who has been crucial for the side is also included.

Blues manager Thomas Tuchel has once again left out club-record signing Romelu Lukaku on the bench and has gone for the impressive Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner to spearhead the attack for the Blues.

As for Newcastle United, fears of relegation have been abated following a remarkable run of nine games without defeat in the Premier League. The Magpies are still in 14th position on the log but have gradually steered clear of the drop zone and might even end up finishing the season in the top half of the standings.

Chelsea have been embroiled in series of financial sanctions after owner Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by the UK government. The Blues have had some of their sponsors notably car manufacturer Hyundai and telecommunications outfit Three suspend their ties with the club in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The sanctions upon Abramovich by the UK government were as a result of his involvement with Russian president Vladimir Putin.
