As for PSG, the wait for an elusive UCL title goes on! One begins to wonder what more can the Parisiens do to land a maiden European Cup crown. The likes of Lionel Messi have FAILED to live up to the billing.

Kylian Mbappe had looked to send the Parisiens through when he opened the scoring, but there is a reason why one must never write off Real Madrid when it comes to the UEFA Champions League. This is their competition and it takes more than just guts to amass 13 UCL titles.

Sporting CP’s squad to face their illustrious hosts tonight. There are some familiar names with the likes of Pablo Sarabia who played for AS Roma and PSG, while Algerian frontman Islam Slimani is back on English soil after once donning the colours of Premier League side Leicester City.

City boss Pep Guardiola has made a host of changes to his line-up as they look to see their way through to the quarter-finals.

As for Les Parisiens, manager Mauricio Pochettino has named French striker Kylian Mbappe in his XI, after the youngster suffered a knock in training on Monday. Lionel Messi is also in the line-up as PSG seeks to reach the last-eight of the competition.

Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has named Toni Kroos in his starting line-up after the German was passed fit for tonight’s clash. Captain Karim Benzema alongside Vinicius Junior, midfielder Luka Modric and Marco Asensio are all in the starting XI.

PSG had claimed the first leg 1-0 at the Parc des Princes via a late Kylian Mbappe strike but Los Blancos will be aiming to overturn the deficit in front of a packed home crowd. As for Manchester City, their job was “literally” done in the first leg three weeks ago where Pep Guardiola’s side hammered Sporting CP 5-0, making this evening’s clash a mere formality.
