Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the Premier League standings, after a superb 4-1 win against fellow London outfit Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The visitors were denied early in the first half, with Wilfred Zaha seeing his effort cannoned off the post while Gunners shot-stopper Aaron Ramsdale made several saves to keep Mikel Arteta’s side in the game.
Arsenal got the breakthrough when Bukayo Saka found Gabriel Martinelli, and the Brazilian international poked home. It became two soon after when Saka found the back of the net just before half-time.
The second period saw Granit Xhaka and Bukayo Saka both finding the back of the net to put the result beyond doubt, though Jeffrey Schlupp netted a consolation as the Eagles’ search for a win in 2023 continues.
The result sees Arsenal inch closer to a first Premier League title in 19 years, and provided a perfect response after being eliminated in the UEFA Europa League last Thursday.
