Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies to STOP training IMMEDIATELY, following heart problem

Bayern Munich and Canada defender Alphonso Davies is set to be out of action indefinitely, after he was diagnosed with mild myocarditis, the Bundesliga club have announced.

The 21 year-old has not featured for the reigning Bundesliga champions since returning a positive COVID-19 test result earlier this month. He had completed routine medical checks after recovering from the virus, which detected signs of of heart muscle inflammation or mild myocarditis.

Davies who missed his side’s 2-1 loss at the Allianz Arena to Borussia Monchengladbach last time, has seen an immediate return to action at Bayern Munich ruled out. He will not be available for training or first-team selection for the time being.

Davies will surely now be side-lined for a while and will miss weeks of training as his condition is monitored. The news comes just two weeks before Canada play three crucial FIFA World Cup qualification matches, while he will sit out the domestic clash with FC Koln this weekend and Bayern’s visit to Hertha Berlin on January 23rd.

Furthermore, he will be unavailable for the Bavarians home clash with RB Leipzig on February 5th and the tie against VFL Bochum a week later. His participation in the UEFA Champions League knockout rounds is uncertain at this stage.

FT: Tunisia 0-1 Mali; Penalty from Kone enough to SEE OFF the Carthage Eagles as Khazri MISSES late PENALTY

Absolute shame and embarrassment as the match between Tunisia and Mali was set to be completed, as both sides were called out in order to conclude the tie. Surprisingly, it was the fourth official who would have taken charge of the match upon resumption and he added five minutes as injury time but Tunisia ceded the match by refusing to come out of the tunnel.

Hmmm, what an encounter! Ibrahima Kone’s penalty wins it for the Malians but trust me…Tunisia will be LIVID following the referee’s below par handling of the game. The referee HAD ENDED the game well before time in the 85th minute, before continuing only for him to finally blow his whistle after 89 minutes and 47 seconds, which sparked protests from the Tunisians. Surely, the referee’s handling of this game has cast a doubt on the quality of officiating on the continent and also the AFCON as a whole. He simply sparked unnecessary controversy over what should not be in the first place.

Meanwhile, at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, capital side AS Roma will be seeking redemption following their 3-1 defeat away at AC Milan last time out. The Giallorossi will need to be disciplined this time around, as they ended the game against Milan with nine men – having seen two players sent off.
