Red Devils left stunned as Sevilla comes from behind to draw 2-2 at Old Trafford

Manchester United were held to a 2-2 draw by a spirited Sevilla side in a thrilling encounter at Old Trafford. The hosts started the game brightly, with Marcel Sabitzer scoring twice in quick succession to put United firmly in control.

Sabitzer’s first goal came in the 14th minute, with the Austrian midfielder showing great composure to finish after being played through by Bruno Fernandes.

Seven minutes later, Sabitzer struck again. This time, it was Anthony Martial who provided the assist, playing a perfectly weighted ball into the path of the onrushing Sabitzer, who made no mistake with his finish.

Sevilla refused to lie down, however, and mounted a comeback in the latter stages of the game. They were given a glimmer of hope in the 84th minute when Tyrell Malacia, who had switched off at a crucial moment, scored an own goal.

United tried to see out the game and secure the win, but were dealt a cruel blow deep into stoppage time. A cross from the left found Youssef En-Nesyri, whose header deflected off Harry Maguire and past David De Gea to earn Sevilla a point.

Wow. Huge moment. Ball clipped to the back post, Malacia switches off and Navas is in. Fires it across the face of goal, deflects off Malacia, hits De Gea and into the back of the net.

Tight for offside perhaps. Brilliant footwork from Martial to start the move, before Fernandes slides a great pass through to Sabitzer. Perfect first touch, and he finishes with the help of a slight deflection. He’s onside too.
