German Bundesliga giants FC Bayern Munich have handed a one-match suspension to attacker Sadio Mane, following his dressing room fracas with teammate Leroy Sane after the club’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final first-leg clash against Manchester City on Tuesday.

The duo had clashed both on and off the field during Bayern’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad, with Mane reported to have punched Sane in the face after the game.
The club’s heirarchy have moved promptly and have subsequently banned Mane for the game against TSG Hoffenheim this weekend and have also fined the Senegalese star.

An official statement from the Bavarian outfit read: “Sadio Mane 31, will not be included in the FC Bayern squad for this Saturday’s home match against 1899 Hoffenheim. This is due to his misconduct after Bayern’s Champions League match at Manchester City. Mane will also be given a fine.”
There had been reports of teammates being critical of Mane and that the club could part ways with the AFCON winner in the summer following the incident, but with the new development, it seems all is well at Bavaria.
