Manchester United secured a crucial victory over Everton in a tightly contested Premier League encounter at Old Trafford. The Red Devils took the lead in the 36th minute, with a goal that was well-earned through some sustained pressure.
The breakthrough came when the ball was slid through to Scott McTominay, who found himself in a tight angle. However, the Scottish midfielder was able to blast the ball low past Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford at the near post to give United the lead.
Everton responded well to going behind, but were unable to find a way past a resolute United defence. The visitors dropped deeper and deeper as the game progressed, and were punished again in the 71st minute.
This time, it was Anthony Martial who found the back of the net for United. The goal came after Seamus Coleman slipped, allowing Marcus Rashford to break free. Rashford then squared the ball for Martial, who was left with a simple finish.
