Real Madrid 0-1 FC Barcelona: Catalans hold Slender Advantage after Eder Militao Own Goal>>>

Catalonian giants FC Barcelona are holding the advantage in the 2022/2023 Spanish Copa del Rey semi-final over fierce rivals Real Madrid, after edging the reigning La Liga champions 1-0 in their first-leg tie at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

The encounter was evenly matched though Los Blancos were dominant at times. The tie was turned on its head when Ivorian midfielder Frank Kessie saw his effort bundled home by Madrid defender Eder Militao, who put the ball in his own net.

Xavi Hernandez’s men protected their lead which they took into half-time. Upon resumption of the second half, Los Blancos launched an onslaught in a bid to restore parity and possibly salvage the game. But Barca were resolute in defending the slender lead which ultimately resulted in the win.

The game also saw Barcelona skipper Sergio Busquets overtake Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos as the player to have featured in the most Clasicos (46 matches).

Real Madrid have an opportunity to launch themselves into the encounter, when both teams clash at the Spotify Camp Nou on April 5th.
