Arsenal ran away victorious at the King Power Stadium with a lone goal victory over Leicester City. The Gunners bagged all 3 points to consolidate their lead at the top of the league.
Gabriel Martinelli produced a moment of magic in the second half to secure all three points in the 46th minute.
Goal! Leicester 0-1 Arsenal
A rapid start to the second half as Gabriel Martinelli finishes into the bottom corner
And we are back for the second half!
No goal after the first 45 minutes. Arsenal would be looking to make up for that in the second half
No Goal for Trossard
Lisandro Trossard had the ball at the back of the net but the goal was cancelled after a VAR review.
And we are off!
It’s interesting that Mikel Arteta is lining his Arsenal side up today without a recognised No.9. Eddie Nketiah has done better than most expected after being asked to fill the void left by the injured Gabriel Jesus. But the 23-year-old has failed to net in his past five appearances and Leandro Trossard has been banging the door down for a regular start.
Whether Trossard or Martinelli play in the central striker’s role remains to be seen. The January signing from Brighton has certainly impressed since arriving. It’s also interesting this his fellow mid-season arrival Jorginho keeps his place, even though Thomas Partey is deemed fit enough for the matchday squad.
