West Ham United 1-1 Chelsea: João Félix scores first goal for the Blues but Emerson Palmieri Salvages point for the Hammers

Chelsea’s attempt to make a charge at the UEFA Champions League qualification places suffered yet another blow, following a 1-1 draw with fellow London outfit West Ham United at the London Stadium in Saturday’s Premier League early kick-off fixture.

The Blues had five out of their eight January winter signings start the clash, and it was loan arrival from Atletico Madrid Joao Felix who opened his account for the Blues as he fired Chelsea in front after a sweet assist from Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernandez.

West Ham United levelled proceedings through former Blue Emerson Palmieri, who got on the end of Tomas Soucek’s cross. The hosts thought they had scored a late winner but Soucek’s effort was ruled out for offside in the build-up.
