Arsenal 1-1 Brentford: Gunners Pegged Back in Title Race as Trossard scores first goal, Ivan Toney grabs Equalizer for the Bees

Arsenal endured a bittersweet afternoon, after they were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by visiting Brentford at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

After the opening period ended goalless, substitute and winter signing from Brighton Leandro Trossard who came on for Gabriel Martinelli, converted Bukayo Saka’s cross to give the Gunners the lead in the 66th minute.

A flurry of headers in the Gunners penalty area following a Brentford set-piece, saw Ivan Toney head home from close range in the 74th minute.

The result sees Arsenal extend their lead at the top of the Premier League standings to six points, ahead of their ultimate title showdown with Manchester City next week. Though the gap could be cut to three points, if the Cityzens end up beating Aston Villa on Sunday.
