Nottingham Forest and Chelsea both played out a 1-1 draw at the City Ground on New Year’s Day, in a result that does not help the Blues cause to reach the UEFA Champions League for next season.

For all of the Blues dominance in the first half, they only had a goal by Raheem Sterling to show for their efforts and were made to pay in the second half as Ivorian defender Serge Aurier levelled to give Steve Cooper’s team a share of the spoils.
