France are the first team through to the knockout stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after a hard fought 2-1 victory over Denmark. Kylian Mbappe was the hero of the night with two beautiful goals to give France 6 points after two games.
Mbappe’s first goal in the 61st minute was a brilliant combo between him and Theo Hernandez with a sublime one-two pass before the ball rolled into the net. Andreas Christensen equalised 7 minutes later but Kylian Mbappe grabbed his 7th World Cup goal to give France the win.

Well then. Well-worked corner, flicked on at the near post and Christsensen is there at the back post to head it home from close range.
Goal! France 1-0 Denmark
And it had to be him. Mbappe drives towards the box, slides it through to Hernandez. The left-back cuts it back to Mbappe, who on the stretch gets there to send the first-time finish past Schmeichel.
Second Half
Up and running again for the second-half. Cornelius off, Braithwaite on to replace him for Denmark.
Half-time
Final moments of the half, Mbappe drifts inside and blasts an effort at goal which smashes into Giroud. Good defending from the striker. France much the better side, look really lively up front, but nothing to show for it.

That Was Hot!

Kick Off!
We’re underway, France looking to be the first team through to the last 16.
Starting XI
So Kounde and Varane come into the French side, with Pavard and Konate dropping out. Hernandez replaces his brother at left-back as expected. The same front four for France that caused Australia so many problems, no surprise there.
For Denmark, Nelsson starts in the middle of the back three as Kjaer misses out. Lindstram, Damsgaard and Cornelius the front three, as they shuffle the pack.
