BREAKING: Sadio Mane will miss the 2022 World Cup in Qatar due to injury (L’equipe)

African champions the Teranga Lions of Senegal will be without their star man Sadio Mane after he limped off injured on Tuesday night.

According to French media outlet, L’equipe, it is now confirmed that Mane will not be part of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

During the first half, the former Liverpool star sat down on the pitch with a leg injury. He attempted to continue following medical care, but it was decided that he should be removed. Leroy Sane took his position. Mane seemed to be limping as he departed the pitch.

He is his country’s talismanic player, and he was instrumental in their Africa Cup of Nations victory earlier this year. Mane’s injury comes only days before Senegal’s Group A matches against the Netherlands, Qatar, and Ecuador.

Mane also helped Senegal qualify for the World Cup finals by defeating Egypt in a second penalty shootout in two months. Senegal would be devastated if his injury prevents him from competing, despite his superb tally of 34 goals in 93 international games.
