Spanish La Liga giants FC Barcelona powered to a 2-0 win over UD Almeria at the Spotify Camp Nou, as club legend Gerard Pique played his final match before retirement.
The fans trooped out en masse to bid farewell to one of their legends and teammates wore a special “Gerard Pique” customized shirt before kick-off.
The hosts had the chance to open the scoring but Robert Lewandowski missed from twelve yards in the seventh minute as the first half ended goalless. The second period saw the Catalans score twice in the space of fifteen minutes through Ousmane Dembele and Frenkie de Jong – as Pique’s 616th and last official game ended in three points.
