Reigning Premier League champions Manchester City moved to the top of the standings, after defeating Fulham 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Julian Alvarez opened the scoring for the hosts but disaster struck when Joao Cancelo was sent off for a foul in the box – with Andreas Pereira netting the resultant spot-kick.

The Cityzens toiled in search of a winner, which arrived in stoppage time as Kevin de Bruyne was brought down in the area and the impressive Erling Haaland converting the spot-kick which sees Pep Guardiola’s men earn all three points and a place at the top of the PL table temporarily.
