PSV 2-0 Arsenal: Veerman & De Jong put the Gunners to the Sword and Ends Perfect Record

Arsenal’s unbeaten run in the 2022/2023 UEFA Europa League season came to an end on Thursday night, following a 2-0 defeat away to Dutch Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven in their group stage Matchday Five fixture at the Philips Stadium.

The home side saw two goals of theirs through Cody Gakpo and Xavi Simons ruled out but there were no such troubles in the second period as Joey Veerman and substitute Luuk de Jong both struck to give Ruud van Nistelrooy’s men all three points and qualification for the playoffs at least.

The Gunners could still claim top spot on the final Matchday, provided they get a victory but the Dutch outfit will fancy their chances of grabbing that coveted spot – if all goes their way next week. They need a win plus Arsenal dropping points for that to happen.
