Former PSG, Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea gaffer Thomas Tuchel has reportedly rejected an offer from Midlands outfit Aston Villa to become their new manager, following the sacking of Steven Gerrard.

L’Équipe had reported that the 49 year-old tactician was contacted over the vacant role at Villa Park, after Steven Gerrard’s sacking last week.
The German coach has turned down the chance at an instant return to the Premier League, having been dismissed by West London outfit Chelsea. The Villans tried to win over Tuchel with an attractive financial offer as well as the promise of ambitious spending in the transfer window.
Tuchel was also a target of Bayer Leverkusen until the Bundesliga outfit opted for Spaniard Xabi Alonso instead. Other reports have linked former PSG and Tottenham Hotspurs manager Mauricio Pochettino to the job, although he appears unlikely to join.
Tuchel joined Chelsea in January of 2021 shortly after being dismissed from PSG on Christmas Eve, and went on to win the Champions League within his first few months in charge. He was fired after a 1-0 defeat to Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Champions League group stage.
