BREAKING: Reece James to MISS 2022 FIFA Men’s World Cup in Qatar, OUT for EIGHT Weeks

Chelsea and England defender Reece James will miss the upcoming FIFA Men’s World Cup in Qatar next month, following an injury which will keep him out of action for two months.

The right-back visited a specialist and following diagnosis, the club have now confirmed that he would be on the sidelines for a significant period.

The Blues released the following statement regarding Reece James: “Following the knee injury sustained in our away match against AC Milan, Reece has received treatment from the Chelsea medical department and visited a specialist this weekend.

After consultation between all parties, Reece will now undergo a rehabilitation programme and is expected to be out for eight weeks.”

James’ absence from the Mundial will give England manager Gareth Southgate another headache, as other options in the right-back position namely Kyle Walker and Trent Alexander-Arnold are currently out injured – with the duo facing a race against time to be fit before the start of the tournament.
