North London outfit Arsenal returned to the summit of the Premier League standings, following an exciting 3-2 victory over Merseyside giants Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium in a Super Sunday encounter.

The Gunners were quick off the blocks as Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring after just 58 seconds, but the visitors soon leveled through Darwin Nunez – who tucked in Luis Diaz’s cross.

Mikel Arteta’s side went in front in first half stoppage time, as Bukayo Saka completed a flowing counter attacking move to put the Gunners 2-1 up.
Upon resumption of the second half, Roberto Firmino equalized for Liverpool but the hosts soon had their noses in front, as center referee Michael Oliver blew for a penalty after Gabriel Jesus was fouled in the area.

Bukayo Saka scored the resulting spot-kick to give the Gunners all three points and sent them back to the top of the table.
