The Netherlands booked their place in the UEFA Nations League Finals which will hold next year, after defeating the Red Devils of Belgium 1-0 in their last group match on Sunday night.

Following a goalless first half, Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk found the breakthrough when he converted Cody Gakpo’s cross to give Louis van Gaal’s side the lead and ultimately the three points.

The victory sees the Netherlands finish on top of the group with 16 points, while Belgium retains their spot in League A ahead of the next edition of the UEFA Nations League.
