Lewandowski’s return to the Allianz Arena was marred as Bayern Munich defeated Barcelona 2-0.

Bayern Munich waited till the second half to set fire on Barcelona’s defence by scoring 2 goals in a space of four minutes. Lucas Hernandez opened scoring in the 50th minute with a smooth header before Leroy Sane dribble through Barcelona’s defence to make it 2-0.

Liverpool 2-1 Ajax

Liverpool left it late to beat Ajax 2-1 at Anfield. A dramatic Joel Matip header in the 89th minute guaranteed all 3 points for Klopps men. Salah had opened the scoring in the 10th minute but Kudus cancelled it with a sublime effort 10 minutes later.

Liverpool had to dig deep to ensure victory in the second half.

For Bayern, no Coman as expected. Mane and Sane in wide areas, with Musiala and Muller likely to rotate centrally.

Xavi has prepared one big surprise in the starting lineup tonight, starting Marcos Alonso over Alejandro Balde and Jordi Alba at left-back. This is the first start for the Spaniard in Barcelona colours after his debut against Cadiz on the weekend.

Klopp makes four changes from the team beaten by Napoli last week: Matip for Gomez, Tsimikas for the injured Robertson, Thiago for Milner, and Jota for Firmino.
