FC Barcelona surged to the top of La Liga albeit temporarily, following an emphatic 4-0 win away at Cadiz CF on Saturday.

The opening half saw the Catalans dominate possession but could not break the deadlock, as the first half ended goalless.

Xavi Hernandez’s side duly opened the scoring through Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong in the 55th minute, while Polish attacker Robert Lewandowski who came on as a substitute, struck in the 65th minute to double the Catalans advantage and also increased his tally in La Liga to six goals.

There was a delay late on in the second half, as play was halted by the center referee due to a medical emergency – as a fan suffered a heart attack.
Upon resumption of play, substitute Ansu Fati and Ousmane Dembele added further goals as the Catalans ran riot to record a 4-0 win.
Victory puts Barcelona in confidence mode, ahead of their second group Stage match in the UEFA Champions League against German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in midweek.
