FC Zurich 1-2 Arsenal: Marquinhos debut goal & Nketiah header hand Gunners Three Points

North London outfit Arsenal began their 2022/2023 UEFA Europa League Group Stage campaign with a 2-1 victory over Swiss side FC Zurich on Thursday night.

Brazilian teenager Marquinhos who was handed his debut by manager Mikel Arteta, scored the opener before the hosts equalized via a 44th minute penalty.

Eddie Nketiah netted in the second half in the 62nd minute, to hand the three points to the Gunners.

As expected, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has made several changes to his starting line-up. In goal, American shot-stopper Matt Turner will deputize for Aaron Ramsdale, Fabio Vieira makes his first start while Eddie Nketiah will lead the frontline in place of Gabriel Jesus.
