West London outfit Chelsea are set to land their third defensive recruit of the summer, as they will complete the signing of French defender Wesley Fofana from Leicester City.
The Blues who have seen previous advances for the 21 year-old rebuffed, will now fork out the sum of £75m including add-ons as they have finally gotten their man.
Fofana will put pen to paper on a six-year contract, which will see him remain at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2028.
Fofana has only played 52 games in all competitions for Leicester since his €35m move from Saint-Etienne in 2020. He missed much of last season with a broken leg but, despite never being capped at senior level, he’s hoping a move to Chelsea could help him stake a claim for France’s World Cup squad ahead of the tournament in Qatar this November.
