The Blues and Foxes reached a ‘verbal agreement’ after several weeks of negotiations. It’s said the clubs are now ‘on the way to concluding’ the move.
The outlet doesn’t seem to know exactly how much Chelsea are paying Leicester City for Fofana, although they do refer to the amount as a ‘record sum’.
This week, it had already been claimed that the Foxes were demanding ‘nearly €100m’ for the player, so the numbers in the deal shouldn’t be far from that. It had also been reported that the midfielder wouldn’t be featuring for the club this weekend anyway.
Fofana joined Leicester City in a €35m move from French side Saint-Etienne in the summer window of 2020, and he made 52 appearances for the club in these two years.
Back in March, he signed a new deal with the Foxes, however, that apparently couldn’t stop Chelsea from coming and getting him.
