Manchester United gaffer Erik ten Hag has given an update regarding striker Anthony Martial ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League clash against Merseyside outfit Liverpool on Monday night.

The Frenchman is back in training and is in contention to make his return for the first time this season, when the Red Devils trade tackles against Jurgen Klopp’s men on Matchday Three.
The development will surely come as positive news for the squad who are winless in their opening two league games of the season. United lost 2-1 against Brighton on the opening weekend, before suffering a humiliating 4-0 defeat at the hands of Brentford last weekend.
Despite the impending return of Martial, the same can not be said for Swedish defender Victor Lindelof, who is set to miss the match on Monday following his own recent injury setback.
Erik ten Hag told MUTV on Friday: “Victor has not returned to the training pitch, but the good news is that Anthony Martial is back in training with the team.”
United will need to be at their very best, if they are to have any chance of avoiding defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford.
