Liverpool 1-1 Crystal Palace: Diaz RESCUES Reds as Nunez is SENT OFF; Zaha on Target for the Visitors

Liverpool dropped points for the second game running, after they were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Crystal Palace at Anfield in a Monday Night Football fixture.

The Reds were on the front foot with Palace happy to sit back and defend, but the hosts were stunned when Ivorian hitman Wilfred Zaha netted for the Eagles in the 32nd minute. Palace held the advantage going into the break.

The second half saw Jurgen Klopp’s side go all out for the equalizer, but things went south when Darwin Nunez was sent off for an unsportsmanlike behaviour.

Though, that only fuelled Liverpool’s resolve and they duly got back on level terms when Luis Diaz struck after a brilliant individual move.

The tie finished all square, with Liverpool yet to win this season and they will take on crisis-ridden Manchester United on Matchday Three next week.

As for Crystal Palace, coach Patrick Vieira will be counting on the trickery of Wilfred Zaha to cause harm to the opposition.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has somehow managed to name a strong line-up, despite the injury issues ravaging the squad. Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez is set to make his first Premier League start, as Roberto Firmino missed out while the talismanic Mo Salah and Luis Diaz will also spearhead the attack lines.
