Pique offers to play for Barcelona for free

According to As reported by As, Gerard Piqué offered to play for Barcelona for free, but Barca did not accept.
The report says that just like a year ago when Piqué took a pay cut in order to allow Barca to register Eric Garcia and Depay before the start of La Liga, this year, history will repeat itself.
Pique will accept a pay cut to allow Barca to complete the registration of their new signings for this summer and Pique will change the terms of his contract this week, which will significantly reduce his salary, but not as much as the player suggested, and he even offered to play for Barca for free.
Piqué knows he is now the fifth centre-back in the team, but he doesn’t want to give up and the Barca second captain believes he will eventually become an important member of the squad.
That is why Piqué handed the club the absolute right to amend his contract during a dinner with Laporta last week. He would waive the terms of his two-year contract, which was extended in 2020, and would be willing to play for Barca for free.
However, Barca will not accept Pique playing for free for the team, but his salary will depend on the club being able to register new signings and the needs of renewed players such as Dembele and Roberto.
