Everton 0-1 Chelsea: Jorginho penalty gives Blues 3 pts as Godfrey suffers horrific injury for the hosts

Chelsea opened their Premier League campaign with a slim 1-0 victory over Everton at Goodison Park.

The Blues found the breakthrough via a first half stoppage time penalty, which was converted by Jorginho – after Doucoure had fouled Ben Chilwell in the area.

The only sour note for Everton and coach Frank Lampard was the horrific injury suffered by Ben Godfrey.
