Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has announced he will play in Manchester United’s last pre-season fixture against Spanish La Liga side Rayo Vallecano this weekend, after failing to secure a move away from the Old Trafford outfit.

The 37 year-old who recently returned to Manchester this week, will suit up for the Red Devils against the Spanish clubside ahead of the upcoming season. It will be Ronaldo’s first match for the 20-time Premier League champions thus far, having missed all of their previous outings in the off season.
The Red Devils legend has been pushing for a move away from the club but posted “Sunday, the king plays” in an Instagram comment. He has failed in his quest to secure a transfer exit from Old Trafford in recent weeks.
Amid the uncertainty surrounding his future, Ronaldo did not turn up for pre-season citing family reasons. But it now appears he will link up with manager Erik ten Hag’s squad ahead of their final outing before the 2022/2023 Premier League campaign begins.
