Midfielders N’golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have both been left out of Chelsea’s contingent to the USA for pre-season activities, due to their Covid-19 vaccination status.

The Blues have confirmed the pair have not flown to Los Angeles as part of Thomas Tuchel’s 29-man squad.
The West London side confirmed on their official website: “N’Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek will not travel, due to their Covid vaccination status.”
It is unclear how many jabs Kante and Loftus-Cheek have had, or whether they both remain completely unvaccinated.
Travellers must show proof of vaccination to be allowed into the USA. Only US citizens or those with an exemption, are permitted to enter the country if they have not had the jab.
Kante and Loftus-Cheek were both sidelined in the last campaign, after testing positive for the virus. The pair had been training at the club’s Cobham training base before the squad jetted stateside today.
