Milan Derby Dates Confirmed as Serie A Release Fixture Schedule for the 2022/2023 Season

Organizers of the Serie A have officially released the fixture schedule for the 2022/2023 campaign.

The season will begin on the weekend of August 13th, 2022 and there will be a lengthy pause because of the FIFA Men’s World Cup in Qatar and the traditional Christmas break – with no Serie A action expected between November 13th, 2022 and January 4th, 2023.

Defending champions AC Milan will open their campaign at the San Siro Stadium against Udinese, just 83 days after securing its first Serie A title in 11 years. Runners-up Inter Milan will visit newly-promoted Lecce on the opening day, while Juventus hosts Sassuolo and Napoli visits Hellas Verona.

The opening weekend also sees former Italy Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi return to the top-flight for the first time since selling AC Milan. His newly-promoted Monza team hosts Torino on Matchday One.

The famous and eagerly-anticipated Derby Della Madonnina aka the Milan Derby or Derby di Milano between AC Milan and Inter Milan will take place on the weekend of September 4th, 2022 while the return leg will be played in February, 2023.

The 2022/2023 Serie A season will come to an end at the start of June for the first time since the 2000/2001 campaign. The final Matchday on June 4th, 2023 sees Milan welcome Hellas Verona, Inter will be at Torino, Juventus visits Udinese while Napoli will face Sampdoria.
