Belgium 6-1 Poland: Witsel, KDB, Dendoncker & Trossard brace help Red Devils rout Poles; Lewandowski nets for the visitors; Wales 1-2 Netherlands: Koopmeiners & Weghorst gift Oranje crucial win

Belgium got their first win and their first points of the UEFA Nations League by spanking visiting Poland 6-1.

Strangely, it was the visitors who went ahead courtesy of Robert Lewandowski but Axel Witsel soon responded for the Red Devils to even the scores going into the break.

The second half saw Belgium’s dominance pay off with strikes from Kevin de Bruyne, a brace from Leandro Trossard, Leander Dendoncker and Lois Openda all finding the back of the net as the hosts got back to winning ways.

In our second feature game of the evening, the Netherlands recorded a 2-1 away victory over Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium with Teun Koopmeiners and Wout Weghorst both netting for the Oranje while Rhys Norrington-Davies scored for the Cymru.

The Oranje have handed debuts to two players, though the usual suspects in Matthijs de Ligt and Stefan de Vrij are in the heart of defence while Wout Weghorst will be the striker up front for the Dutch.

The Cymru are without captain Gareth Bale who is on the bench tonight though Ben Davies will deputise in the role of skipper tonight.

As expected, Poland will be led by their talismanic captain Robert Lewandowski while Piotr Zielinski of Napoli is also in the line-up. But Aston Villa’s Matt Cash settles for a place on the substitutes bench.

Belgium coach Roberto Martinez has named Kevin de Bruyne in his line-up as well as Michy Batshuayi in place of the injured Romelu Lukaku.
