European football governing body UEFA have released the 2021/2022 Champions League Team of the Season, following the conclusion of the competition last weekend.
UEFA’s Technical Observer panel selected its 2021/2022 UEFA Champions League Team of the Season, based on the exceptional performances of some players who graced the tournament this campaign.
The 2021/2022 UEFA Champions League Team of the Season is in a 4-3-3 formation with Thibaut Courtois of Real Madrid in goal. The defence line-up includes Liverpool trio of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson, while Antonio Rudiger of Chelsea completes the back-four.
In midfield, Kevin de Bruyne (Manchester City), Fabinho (Liverpool) and Luka Modric (Real Madrid) all made the cut while the attack line consists of Kylian Mbappe (PSG), Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid) and Karim Benzema (Real Madrid).
Also, UEFA’s Technical Panel named Vinicius Jr of Real Madrid as the Young Player of the Season, while teammate Karim Benzema won the Player of the Season accolade.
The 2021/2022 edition of Europe’s elite club Cup competition was won by Spanish La Liga outfit Real Madrid for a record-extending 14th time, after they defeated English Premier League side Liverpool 1-0 in the Final held at the Stade de France in Paris.
