West Ham 1-2 Frankfurt: Germans Beat Hammers in London; Leipzig 1-0 Rangers; Gers Fall Behind in First Leg

West Ham & Rangers are both behind after the first leg of their UEFA Europa League semi-finals.

West Ham were stunned in their own home by the marauding Eintracht Frankfurt. The visitors grabbed a precious away win at the detriment of the Londoners.

It only took Frankfurt a minute to take the lead when Ansgar Knuff poached home an early goal that sent the stadium into a frenzy. The intimidating Frankfurt supporters sang their heart out all through the game.

Hammers got back in the game in the 21st minute through Michail Antonio. But David Moyes’ men could not keep the momentum and they were punished for it in the second half when Daichi Kamada put Frankfurt back in front!

West Ham have a lot of work to do going into the second leg if they want to make it to the Europa League final because the Germans are not taking any prisoners.

Leipzig left it to the death to put Rangers through the sword. Angelino grabbed a wonderful goal to put the Germans up in the tie. There is still a lot to play for in the return leg.
