Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has signed a new deal that will keep him and his staff at Anfield until 2026.
Reports had earlier emerged on Thursday that the Liverpool hierarchy had opened talks over an extension to the 54-year-old’s current deal, which was due to expire in 2024 and the German has now put pen to paper on a new four-year deal, extending his stay at the club by at least another two years.
Klopp is the longest-serving manager in the Premier League, and the new deal would see him take his Anfield reign beyond the 10-year mark, having taken over in October 2015.
The German had previously suggested that he would leave Liverpool when his current contract was due to expire in 2024, before taking a sabbatical from football but the Reds success this season has convinced him to extend his stay further.
