Barcelona beat Real Sociedad 1-0 to go second on La Liga table

Barcelona leapfrog Sevilla and Atletico Madrid into second place after beating Real Sociedad at San Sebastian. The win comes thanks to a first half goal by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Ousmane Dembele hit the post when wide open inside the area, Barcelona manage to score anyway. Gavi worked hard to recover the ball and then plays it for Ferran Torres to centre, with Aubameyang turning it in.

It was a tough game for the Catalans as all their back four got injured within 20 mins with Dani Alves and Ronald Araujo substituted. But that did not deter them from grinding out the win and seeing off Real Sociedad.

Xavi’s men are now in second position with a game in hand but 15 points behind league leaders Real Madrid.
