Cristiano Ronaldo wants Manchester United to fight “until their last breath” to book Champions League spot

Cristiano Ronaldo is ready to drive Manchester United into the Champions League.

The Portuguese legend, 37, returned to training ahead of Saturday’s trip to struggling Everton, having missed United’s 1-1 draw with Leicester on Saturday through illness. And having scooped his third Red Devils Player of the Month award this campaign, he had a positive message for fans.

He said: “I feel so happy and motivated for the rest of the season. I will do my best, like I do all the time. See you soon in Old Trafford.

“Lovely. Thank you very much for these votes.”

Ronaldo has 12 Prem goals from 24 games and is in contention for United’s Player of the Year award. But he reckons personal accolades are more valuable when combined with team success.

Having also bagged the Premier League and United’s Goal of the Month gongs, Ronnie posted a picture of himself with his haul on Instagram. He captioned it: “Individual achievements are always welcome, but they are worth so much more when they are connected to collective wins.

“There are still many things to fight for until the end of the season and we can never quit on achieving the goals that remain possible and within our reach.

“Let us go for more! Let us fight until our last breath! Let’s go, Devils!”
