FT: Barcelona 1-0 Sevilla; Pedri ON TARGET as Blaugrana continue unbeaten run

Not only did the goal give the Catalans their sixth consecutive league victory, but it also enabled them to leapfrog their opponents into second place.

As for Sevilla, coach Julen Lopetegui has named a forward line of Lucas Ocampos, Erik Lamela and January loan signing from Manchester United Anthony Martial, while Ivan Rakitic is in the heart of midfield for the Andalusians.

Barca manager Xavi Hernandez has named Gabonese striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang alongside rejuvenated Ousmane Dembele and Ferran Torres to lead the attack lines, while Frenkie de Jong and Pedri will run things from the heart of midfield. January loan signing from Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers Adama Traore only has a spot in the substitutes bench.

As for Sevilla, they have only won one of their last five matches (the first leg of their Europa League round of 16 match against West Ham). Seven draws in their last nine means that they now sit 12 points behind league leaders Real Madrid, meaning their hopes for the La Liga title have decreased drastically.

Barcelona are coming off an incredible 4-0 win against arch and bitter rivals, Real Madrid at the Bernabeu while Sevilla, who are currently in second spot, have avoided defeat in their last 15 La Liga matches.

Barca have had a tumultuous season which culminated in the sacking of former coach Ronald Koeman and their failure to reach the knockout rounds of the UEFA Champions League. However, they have turned a corner since the appointment of former player and captain Xavi Hernandez and have now gone unbeaten in the league since December, and have won all five of their last league games.
