Liverpool are through to the Quarterfinals with a 2-1 victory over Norwich City thanks to a first half brace from Takumi Minamino.
Having conquered a domestic trophy already, Jurgen Klopp had a quick-fire crack at progressing into the final eight of the FA Cup. For the first time since his appointment as Liverpool manager, the German appears to be taking cup competitions seriously. With his squad deeper than in previous campaigns, his side look better-suited to battling across all fronts.
If he can add the FA Cup to his list of honours while at Anfield, Klopp will have completed the set. Traveling to Anfield this evening was a Norwich City side in no sort of form. Dean Smith’s arrival might have led to brief uptick in form but the last five games have yielded only one win and his team remain rooted to the bottom of the table.
Takumi Minamino’s first goal was in the 27th minute when his right footed shot from the right side of the six yard box rocked the net thanks to an assist by Divock Origi.
Minamino struck again in the 39th minute with a magnificant goal. Norwich pulled one back in the second half through Lukas Rupp but it was a little too late for a come back.
Good very good, Liverpool you are the King⚽️👑 of Angleterre ligue…
