OFFICIAL: FIFA and UEFA BAN Russia from ALL Football Competitions

World soccer governing body FIFA and European football regulatory body UEFA have both announced that Russia has been suspended indefinitely from all international tournaments.

In a joint statement released on Monday in conjunction with UEFA, FIFA said: “FIFA and UEFA have today decided together that all Russian teams, whether national representative teams or club teams, shall be suspended from participation in both FIFA and UEFA competitions until further notice.”

The latest development means that Russia has been effectively KICKED OUT from the 2022 World Cup Finals playoffs qualification matches set to be played in the month of March.

FIFA had come under fire Sunday night for its initial proposed sanctions on Russia, which proposed only a temporary ban on its name, flag and national anthem, and a prohibition on hosting international matches.

Poland who were due to face Russia in Moscow in the playoff semi-final alongside Sweden and the Czech Republic had all revealed they would NOT play against Russia, even at a neutral venue, following President Vladimir Putin’s all-out military assault on Ukraine last week, with several other national federations following suit, saying they would refuse to play against Russian national teams until further notice.
