Who is the greatest Chelsea Coach ever?

It might be a little too early to judge but Thomas Tuchel could be in the running for the greatest Chelsea manager in history. He has the trophies to back that claim, but how does he compare to the most successful manager in the club’s history, Jose Mourinho.

When Jose Mourinho arrived at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea completely dominated the Premier League. His team got an incredible 95 points, the most in Premier League history. He won the league back to back, he racked up the FA and League cups to his feather as well.

Jose Mourinho was not as successful in his fairy tale return to the club but he still managed to win the Premier League, making it the third time! However, Jose Mourinho could not get his hands on the Champions League trophy during both spells at Chelsea.

It took Thomas Tuchel only 6 months in charge of Chelsea for him to win the Champions League. Since the German arrived at Cobhams, he has won 3 titles – Champions League, Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup. No coach has attained such European success under 1 year in the history of Chelsea football club.

So if it takes Thomas Tuchel a year to achieve this much success on the European scene, he could become more successful than any Chelsea manager in history if he continues this way.

There are several feats Thomas Tuchel could do to be clear of Jose Mourinho. First, he could win 3 Premier League titles to match that of the Portuguese or he could win back to back Champions League titles which would completely blow Jose Mourinho out of the water.

A lot of people would argue that winning a league is a more difficult task given the number of games involved, but you cannot compare a domestic league to the most coveted prize in club football.

Let us know what you think in the comment section below, who do you think is the greatest Chelsea coach ever?

  1. I can only imagine what Thomas Tuchel would do with a squad that has John Terry, D. DROGBA, Frank Lampard, Anelka, Oscar, Hazard, Mata, Favreau, Ashley Cole, Ivanovic, Ballack, Malouda and Co. If TT could win the Champions league with the likes of Mount, Odoi and Werner. The sky would just be his stepping stone of given freedom to get any player he wish for like Abramovich did for Jose.

  2. That time the special one was best today I can’t undervalue him he did his best, Thanks to TT he has also done his best especially he has not used new better signing
