FT: Burkina Faso 1-3 Senegal: Teranga Lions through to AFCON FINAL: Goals from Mane and Dieng

Sadio Mane and the Teranga Lions of Senegal are through to the final of the African Cup of Nations.

Senegal put on a world class performance to sweep past Burkina Faso with goals from Abdou Diallo, Idrissa Gueye and Sadio Mane.

The first Africa Cup of Nations semi-final saw two teams that have never lifted the trophy play for a place in the final. Burkina Faso finished as runners-up in 2013 and were third in 2017, and were looking to better those efforts this time.

The Senegal side looked to be finding form at the right time. Having scored just one goal in the group stage, Senegal had to then battle past nine-man Cape Verde to reach the last eight.


A much-improved display last time out saw them beat Equatorial Guinea 3-1. Senegal will face either Cameroon or Egypt in the AFCON final.
