African contenders to represent the continent in the FIFA World Cup, Qatar 2022 knew the fate of their upcoming opponents when the draw for the Third and Final Round of the African Qualifiers was held on Saturday.
The draw held in Douala, Cameroon was conducted by CAF Competitions Director Samson Adamu, assisted by CAF legends El Hadji Diouf and Emmanuel Adebayor.
Only one of Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane will be going to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, after Egypt and Senegal were drawn together in the African qualifying play-off round.
Salah and Mane regularly form part of a dangerous attacking force as club team-mates at Liverpool, however they will come up against each other for their countries later this year.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles will have to get the better of the Black Stars of Ghana if they hope to qualify for a fourth straight FIFA World Cup after both sides were paired up in the play-off draw for the 2022 Qatar World Cup on Saturday in Douala, Cameroon.
