FT: Man United 1-0 West Ham, Rashford’s late goal wins it for The Red Devils at Old Trafford

Manchester United edge past West Ham in injury-time! After a tight VAR call, the home side get the decision and take all 3 points at Old Trafford! Newcastle were able to snatch all three points at Leeds.

GoooooooaaaaaaalMan United 1-0 West Ham

Breakthrough at Old Trafford! Edinson Cavani plays the ball across the box for Marcus Rashford to slot in.

Into the final minute

West Ham best in Premier League at corners + nearly score there. Soucek allowed to wander to six-yard box + glance on Bowen’s delivery. Zouma at far post. United look 4-4-2, Cavani + Ronaldo up top, Martial left, Rashford right.

No breakthrough YET

The score is still 0-0 at Old Trafford

Second Half

Back underway!

Half time

Bright start for the Red Devils

Solid enough start from United, but they need to tidy up their game around the final third. Greenwood has twice taken on shots when he could have crossed it, Ronaldo slammed a free-kick predictably into the wall and Dalot badly overhit one cross. There’s enough of the ball for United but they need to use it better when in sight of the West Ham goal.

Kick off!

We are underway at Old Trafford! Manchester United have won 20 of their 25 Premier League home games against West Ham. Which way is it going today?

Manchester United welcome West Ham to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds beat Brentford 3-1 on Wednesday night after an inspired second-half performance in London. That was United’s first league win of 2022 and it offered some much-needed respite after a string of poor results against Aston Villa and Wolves.

United now sit on 35 points in the table, which means they’re two points behind fourth-placed West Ham with a game in hand.

West Ham are enjoying another strong season, but they head into this fixture on the back of a 3-2 defeat against Leeds.

Cristiano Ronaldo is fit to start after overcoming a neck issue, while Anthony Elanga also gets another chance to impress from the start.

Luke Shaw (hamstring), Aaron Wan-Bissaka (illness), Victor Lindelof (family) and Jadon Sancho (family) are unavailable.
