How Group C panned out!

Jim Allevinah is the man voted as the MVP in the fixture between Gabon and Morocco. Well earned!

In the group’s other match, the Atlas Lions of Morocco twice came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw with the Panthers of Gabon, which sees them finish as table toppers.

A superb performance sees debutantes Comoros score their first goals and pick up their first points at the Africa Cup of Nations by defeating Ghana. The Black Stars surprisingly have been eliminated, following just one point from three group games. It is the first time since 2006 that Ghana will be eliminated from the AFCON in the group stages.

KICK-OFF: We are underway!!!

Below is the official line-ups for both sides, as they go for the jugular.

Tonight will see Ghana take on Comoros in a make-or-mar clash. Failure for the Black Stars to win, would see them exit the AFCON in the group phase. Comoros on the other hand, will be hoping to stun the four-time African champions in order to seal an unlikely qualification into the latter stages.

Just a while ago, we witnessed the two games scheduled for the earlier part of the day as Malawi held tournament favourites Senegal to a goalless draw – a result which saw the Flames finish the group stage campaign on four points, while in the other fixture Zimbabwe provided another shock result as they defeated Guinea 2-1. The result however was not good enough to see them go through to the knockout rounds, as they finished bottom of their group.

A beautiful evening to you our esteemed fans. Welcome to another round of Apex Football’s LIVE coverage of the CAF Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon.
