Everton sack manager, Rafael Benitez, after horrendous form

Everton Football club have confirmed the departure of manager Rafa Benitez, following a 2-1 defeat to lowly Norwich City on Saturday afternoon.

The Toffees, who are set to play Aston Villa on Saturday, January 22nd, have won just one of their past 13 games in the Premier League.

They have lost seven of their last ten top-flight matches, and find themselves six points above the relegation zone.

It has been a difficult past few months for Benitez on Merseyside with the Toffees having won just once since September. When asked whether he believed he would get more time from the owners after the Norwich defeat, he said: “I am a professional and I have enough experience. I came here to fix problems that is not just the last five months. Maybe we are talking about years.”

The Spaniard leaves the role after just six months into a three-year deal at Goodison Park.
