Man City winger Ferran Torres set to join Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona for around 55 million Euros

Catalan giants FC Barcelona have agreed a mega deal with reigning Premier League champions Manchester City for the transfer of Spanish forward Ferran Torres.

The deal is said to be worth in excess of 50 million Euros (around 55 million Euros) plus an extra 10 million Euros in add-ons and it will be the very first signing under the management of new coach Xavi Hernandez.

Ferrán Torres will put pen to paper on a five-year deal, as he makes a return to his native homeland – having previously featured for Valencia. Barca will pay an initial fee of €50 million Euros for Torres, with an additional amount to follow in add-ons.

Valencia on the other hand, will receive 10% of the transfer fee – having added that stipulation to their agreement with Manchester City last year, plus an additional 4%.

Torres joined Manchester City in the summer of 2020 from Spanish side Valencia but has struggled to nail a regular place in the Starting XI, having to battle it out and contend with the likes Riyad Mahrez, Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva.

While Barcelona can revel in having bolstered their attacking options with the recruitment of Ferran Torres, following the sudden and abrupt retirement of striker Sergio Aguero, they MUST now offload dead-weights in a bid to enable them register their latest acquisition – as a result of their terrible financial situation.
